Due to the pending weekend weather forecast, the Point Lookout Captains Association has decided to postpone the Point Lookout Shark Tournament to Saturday, July 6 with the Captains Meeting being held Friday, July 5 at Ted's Fishing Station in Point Lookout. The rain date will be Sunday, July 7.
The weigh-in will take place at Scotty's Fishing Station in Point Lookout starting at 3pm on Saturday. For boats that would like to drop the hook and spend time at the weigh-in, Scotty's will provide water taxis from Reynold's Channel to the docks on weigh-in day.
Another change to the event is the addition of a $200 winner-take-all bluefin tuna calcutta. There are also $100, $300 and $500 shark calcuttas with 70% going to first place and 30% going to second place. This is a mako and thresher only event.
They will have live music and many raffles for fishing gear, marine art and more at the Captains meeting on July 5. They are looking forward to putting on a fun event for everyone.
