Our speaker this month will be BILL KORBEL,evening meteorologist for News 12 Long Island.
Bill, a native Long Islander, is one of the areas most experienced meterologists; accurately forecasting the tri-state weather for more than 25 years.
He began his forecasting career as a weather officer in the Air Force and recently retired from the Air Force Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel. He served at several stateside locations as well as in Southeast Asia, but the highlight of his military career was a two year assignment as a forecaster for Air Force One.
Learn about cold and warm water patterns, how squalls form and how they can affect your passage on the seas. Discover how tornados and hurricanes impact our water and land as well as the moon’s influence on our changing tides. This will be an entertaining and informative lecture/discussion for anyone who steps off land and onto the seas.
Bill is an avid boater who enjoys fishing and golf. He is also a commercially licensed pilot who often takes to the air for transportation and relaxation.
