The Passing of a Patriot

On January 4, 2014, my friend, Major Wesley D. Schierman, USAF (ret) passed after a brief, but serious illness. Major Schierman, who is memorialized on our Veterans Memorial Plaque, was shot down over North Vietnam on August 28, 1965 and repatriated to the United States on February 12, 1973. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Board of Directors of our club for accepting a donation of flags I have made to be flown in Major Schiermans' memory at our marina and for the gracious letter drawn up by President Scarpantonio, which will be sent to Major Sciermans familiy acknowledging the doanation of the flags and his service to our country.
