Raft Repack - Group Buy?

Post by MBILL »

Is anyone interested in a group life raft repack purchase? If a few people are interested I'll see what I can coordinate with SEA SAFETY. They're the folks that provided a safety seminar at one of our GM's a while back.
I've been using a different repacker but they've become extremely expensive lately.

Bill,
Great idea. I used Sea safety for a repack 2 years ago, it was no bargain, it cost me $1200+ . Only bonus was it was a 3 year repack.

Bill I am in. The fellow that came to our club empressed me, however he is pretty far south unless he comes her to pick up. $1200 for three years of no repacking I'll take that deal.

I'll give them a call and see what they'll do for us. Larry, I think that they're in
Secaucus. It's not very far butif they'll pickup that would be even better.

You can only get a three year repack if: that is what your raft is designated for by its manufacturer - most of the newer non-commercial Revere's and Viking's are; and, you are not using the boat for commercial purposes - i.e. even 6-pack charters - otherwise it must be recertified every year. The way they get the 3-year interval is to vacuum seal the raft.

I'll get the details from Sea Safety. I'm fairly sure that there's no raft requirement for 6 packs. There's a SOLAS raft requirement for commercial fishing boats though.

I have been using Sea Safwety Intl in Secaucus. My Switlik requires repacking every year. I think it costs @$500.00 a year depending on how many flares and other stuff need to be replaced.
I am interested in the group rate as well
